Questions
The things people ask.
Including the ones with awkward answers. A page of these that only contained flattering questions would not be worth reading.
What it is
Is this another task manager?
No. Tasks may come out of the analysis, but the thing PYFFO works on is friction, and the first option is often to stop doing the work altogether. A task manager helps you organise the work; PYFFO asks whether the work should exist.
Will it give me a productivity score?
No, and it will not invent a benchmark either. It reports hours you supplied, at rates you supplied, with the arithmetic shown. Anything else would be a number with the shape of evidence and none of the substance.
Does it use AI?
No. The questions, the scoring and the recommendations are deterministic and explainable: the same answers always produce the same result, and you can see why. When PYFFO says two items look like the same problem, it will tell you exactly what made it look.
What does PYFFO stand for?
Pull Your Freaking Finger Out. It is pronounced FIH-foh.
Buying it
Why pay once rather than subscribe?
Because a subscription is friction, and it would be odd to sell friction removal with a renewal date attached. You buy the edition and own ongoing use of it, subject to the store's terms.
Why does Business cost $999?
One recurring friction item can be hundreds of hours a year. Four people spending half an hour a day moving data between systems is 480 hours annually. PYFFO makes that case visible using your own numbers — it does not guarantee you will find it.
Is there a free trial?
Find Your Friction is the trial. It asks the product's own questions, does the product's own arithmetic, and costs nothing. Family is not a trial of Business either — it is a different product with its own question library.
Can I buy it yet?
Not yet. The prices are published so you know what you would be paying, not to take a deposit — there is nothing to pre-order. Leave an address and we will tell you once when it launches.
Your data
Do you upload our audit?
No. There is no PYFFO account and no content database. The apps contain no networking code at all, so there is nothing to switch off. The detail is here.
What happens if I lose my phone?
The data goes with it, unless you exported a copy. That is the honest cost of local-first: nobody can recover it for you, including us. Export is one action and produces a single readable file — do it now and again.
Is there sync between my devices?
Not today. If it is added it will be platform sync through your own iCloud or Google account, never a PYFFO server.
Which edition
I own more than one business. Which edition do I need?
PYFFO Business is licensed to one company. If you want to use PYFFO across multiple companies, choose PYFFO Advisor, which allows you to create and manage audits for multiple businesses.
What counts is the number of companies, not who owns them. Whether they are clients, subsidiaries or all yours makes no difference to the licence — and at $1,999, Advisor costs about the same as two copies of Business.
Can I use Family for my business?
No. Family is licensed for one named person, personal and non-commercial use, and everything it exports says so on the document. It also asks household questions, so it would be the wrong tool even if the licence allowed it.
Can I move an audit from Business to Advisor?
Not currently. An export refuses to open in a different edition, deliberately, so that a personal audit cannot quietly become a commercial deliverable. A proper hand-off between the two is planned and not yet built.
Using it
How long does an audit take?
The gate questions are sixteen, and someone who answers no to everything is done in a few minutes. Someone who recognises five is asked around twenty-five and finishes with five scored, quantified items. It is designed to be picked up and put down.
What if I do not know the numbers?
Say so. Quantities are optional and PYFFO will not estimate them for you — an item without numbers still gets captured, scored and prioritised, it just does not add to the hours. A total you can defend is worth more than one that includes guesses.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets.
What will it not do?
It will not manage your projects, hold your documents, integrate with your accounting system or tell you your business is 73% efficient. It finds friction, prices it with your numbers, helps you decide what to do, and checks afterwards whether it worked.
